Die Familie Casella widmete sich bereits seit mehr als 130 Jahren dem Weinbau in Sizilien, ehe Filippo und Maria Casella 1957 nach Australien auswanderten. 1969 gründeten sie eine eigene Kellerei, die sich als erfolgreiches Geschäftsmodell entpuppte. Für den weltweiten Durchbruch sorgte der Sohn John Casella, der das Unternehmen 1994 übernahm und der Siegeszug von [yellow tail] begann.
